The city of Santa Rosa is a city known throughout the Bay Area for its diversity, which is apparent in its variety of cuisine, good and bad. There are a handful of shops that stand out as the cream of the crop, and a few that just don’t make the cut.
The first restaurant worth noting is Cafe Des Croissants located on Lomitas Avenue, Santa Rosa. You can check out their downtown Santa Rosa location on any day of the week from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekends, and 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. Their croissants and pastries are baked daily at 5:00, and are kept in a sealed glass case to preserve their freshness. They serve a variety of coffee blends, so whether like a rich French roast, or a lighter roast, you will find just what you are looking for.
If you’re looking for a savory treat to enjoy for lunch, look no further than Sandy’s Pizza. Opening in 1983, the Sandy’s Pizza family has been serving cheaply-priced pizza, cookies, ice cream, and salads for over 40 years. While you wait for your pizza, you can check out their arcade located in the side room and play games for just 25¢ a pop. They also sell rare Pokémon cards!
If you’re looking for a sweet treat, Dave’s Gourmet Ice Cream is a great place to check out. With 6 original flavors, it is not difficult to find just what you’re looking for. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone who is willing to pay more for a higher quality product. Adrianne Glatt, a teacher here at Santa Rosa High School, says that ”Dave’s Ice Cream is the closest
In quality to Screamin’ Mimi’s in Sebastopol,” another popular ice cream parlor. Dave’s Gourmet Ice Cream is located in a strip mall off West Third Street.
Santa Rosa is truly packed with restaurants, and the only way to figure out which establishments are good is to take a leap of faith and try them. Now go out and dine!
