Self-expression is a key part of how we shape our lives and identity. Creativity can be showcased through various fields of art such as painting, sculpting, drawing, writing, photography and even nail art. Nail art has exploded in popularity more than ever before. More than just a trend, it’s also a way for people to express creativity and independence. Most people’s interest in the art derives from the desire for specific styles, leading to independent nail artists igniting their spark of creativity.
One nail artist, junior Perla Roseales, took initiative to fulfill her own desires: “The fact that other people never gave me what I wanted on my nails made me start doing it myself,” said Roseales, further proving evidence that nail art is key in artistic growth and personal empowerment. She turned her frustration into developing a new skill.
Some of the most interesting aspects of nail art are in the process of it. You can find all types of styles from different nail artists. Everyone’s taste differs; Roseales prefers “nails with lots of gems and different designs on each nail.”
Nail art has had a huge and lasting impact on society and has helped many generations to become inspired and take a lead, master a skill and express themselves in many different ways. An underappreciated art form, nail art has a long rich history of bringing up artists with talent, creativity and style.
