During the holiday season, listening to festive holiday music is a must-do! Enjoying fun and relaxing music with friends and family is one of the most popular things to do during the holidays. The emergence of Mariah Carey every year after Halloween and the old classic songs that we used to carol in school as little kids are very exciting.
The most popular song among students seems to be “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Junior Micah Alchin said, “I love that song because it always becomes popular each year after Halloween and it really helps the Christmas spirit spread each year.” Sophomores Caden Herring and Josh Fisher also both chose this song as their favorite Christmas song.
Another Christmas song that is popular amongst some students is “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms. Sophomore Cole Balkin said, “This is my favorite song because I loved to sing it growing up as a kid at school and with my family.” Balkin has also said he has listened to parodies of this song, but they don’t compare to the original version.
Sophomore Jordan Rivera has a different favorite Christmas song. He said, “My personal favorite is probably ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.’” This story of Santa and his reindeer turned into a classic and one of the best songs of all time. This is an absolute must-listen during the holiday season.
Having a holiday music playlist to listen to during the holiday season is a must! Listening with friends and family while dancing around is very fun, and is a nice way to spend time with people that you love. Students’ favorite Christmas song seems to be “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. This song is my personal favorite, and the jokes about Mariah Carey “defrosting” after Halloween are very funny.
