Outer Banks has returned

Outer Banks season four has landed! The new season dropped on Netflix on Oct. 10, though it is being released in two parts. The second part of the season will be released on Nov. 7.

The season begins with the Pogues finally finding success. The gold that they found at the end of season three totaled over $1 million. Never having had money before, the Pogues didn’t make the best financial decisions. They blew through almost all of their money, and in a last ditch effort JJ bets the last of their gold on a dirt bike race. He and John B. lost, and the Pogues are now broke. The Pogues then took an offer to help find the treasure of Blackbeard, which is the main theme of this season.

The fourth season has all of the typical themes of any season of Outer Banks. It includes the Pogues narrowly escaping death and competing with others in an attempt to find treasure that has not been found for centuries and such.

One of the issues with the new season is that Rudy Pankow, who plays JJ in the show, has been involved in some controversies with the other actors due to his girlfriend, Elaine Siemik. Siemik has caused some discomfort for Rudy with the other actors in the show and the vibe between Rudy and Madison Bailey, who plays Kiara, is clearly off and interferes with the energy in scenes of the show. Many believe that Rudy wants off the show and that the plot twist at the end of the show is that they will either kill his character off or end the show.

The end of part one of season four sparked many theories among fans. The last episode ends with JJ being told that the man he thought was his dad is not actually his dad and that he is a descendant of the Genrette family, which has been affected by the curse of Blackbeard’s wife for centuries. Though it was short-lived, containing only five episodes, this season is a perfect setup to what could be a great ending to an already amazing show.
