Christmas is a time of joy, family, merriment and, of course, giving and receiving gifts, which is the part of Christmas that people eagerly await each year. However, from the perspective of giving presents, it’s also a common occurrence that despite wanting to get someone the perfect gift that’s sure to put a smile on their face, you can’t always give them what they want.
Most often it is because the Christmas countdown flies by and you lose track of time. There are many things to worry about during Christmas Time such as travel plans, decorations and more. Or you might have simply bet on yourself to be responsible enough to get a present for them in time.
As a result, you are left with maybe a few days to find a gift, and you don’t want the person you were supposed to get something for to look under that beautiful tree and see that there is no present from you. Such a scenario is exactly the reason why it’s crucial to always have a plan B—an emergency switch—something to get when you’ve got limited options and, most importantly, very little time to spare.
There are many quick gifts out there that someone can get when running low on time. “I would normally get them Christmas socks or a gift card,” said senior Zoe Cirineo. You could get the person something that is holiday-themed so that they can get into the Christmas spirit. Money might not be very Christmas-y, but it does have a more universal appeal to it due to how it is arguably more useful than any other type of gift a person could get. It is also a much safer choice since it gives the person the ability to choose what they want and you don’t risk getting them something they don’t like.
