If you are looking for a good family-friendly movie to watch, this Pixar movie should be on your list. On December 25, 2020, Pixar released a new film called “Soul.” This film starred Jamie Foxx, the voice of Joe Gardner, and Tina Fey, the voice of Number 22.

“Soul” is directed by Pete Docter, co-directed by Kemp Powers and written by Mike Jones and Kemp Powers. Jazz music plays throughout the film. The jazz music was arranged by John Batiste and Oscar winners, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

In his career, Pete Docter also directed “Inside Out” and “Up.” This movie has similarities to his film “Inside Out,” so if you enjoyed that movie, then “Soul” is perfect for you.

“Soul” is good for all ages and has something in it for everyone. It has comedy, fantasy and music all throughout the movie.

This film is about the main characters Joe Gardner and Number 22 going on an adventure to find life’s purpose.

Joe Gardner is a middle school band teacher with big dreams of becoming a jazz musician. When he finally is asked to become a part of a jazz band; he takes one misstep and gets stuck in the “Great After.” Not wanting to die, Joe Gardner jumps off of the path to the ‘light’ and falls through the void. The void then sucks him in until he lands in the “Great Before”.

When in the great before, Joe Gardner meets Number 22. Number 22 is an unborn soul who does not see the purpose of living on earth. After meeting each other, the main characters go on an adventure to help each other. On their adventure they find the true meaning of the purpose of life.

I think that “Soul” was very good, it is definitely a family-friendly movie and I would recommend this film to anyone. Not only is “Soul” funny, but it also sends a good message. I think that “Soul” teaches you about your purpose in life and that you only have one life, so you shouldn’t waste it. “Soul” is only available on Disney +, go watch it today.
