Santa Rosa High School’s Annual Day Of Tolerance

By Alice Brookston On Wednesday, March 15, the Day of Tolerance was held in the auditorium at Santa Rosa High School. Throughout the day, six groups shared their stories involving six different issues including disability rights, immigration, homelessness, criminal justice, mental health, and the holocaust. During first period, Xerxes Whitney came to SRHS to discuss his experiences of living with Cerebral Palsy and how to he grew to embrace his differences and be proud of who he is. SRHS BECOMES MORE ECO-FRIENDLY AS IT INSTALLS NEW WATER BOTTLE FILLING STATIONS THROUGHOUT CAMPUS

According to Ban the Bottle, Americans used 50 billion plastic bottles last year alone, but only one in five are recycled. Santa Rosa High School’s very own ecology club helped out with this increasing issue by encouraging the school administration to install new water filtration fountains around campus, making filling up reusable water bottles easier and more accessible.
